Montages and 500 words
The exhibition centre of contemporary art is the re-envisioned building of the new museum of contemporary art. It was designed as a exhibition architecture to replace the original design. It located in the city area and the configuration of building will provide the unique view for the visitors.
The original building was the new museum of contemporary and zollverrein school. The New Museum has bounced between being audacious and being annoying in its 30 years. From the outside, this silvery column is a symbol of an ambitious desire to reflect and participate in the discourse around contemporary art. The design of zollverein school was a cuboids structural shell, picks up the basic functional and effective idea used by the original Zollverein architects schupp and krimmer. The oversized cube, which measures 35 meters by 35 meters and is 35 meters high, which reflects the dimensions of the Zollverein mine
The external views of the building based on the original organization of the new museum which form with several different size boxes arrange together disarray. The exhibition centre has seven levels which every level have different random heights for different kinds of art exhibits. The ground level of the building is the main entry and the reception centre and level one is the rest area. Other levels are the show rooms.
For the lighting of the building, many different square size windows on the two side walls of the building with forested glass support diffuse light which could not make many shadows. For the lager window on the front wall, there is a wall in the room to stop the direct light.
The material on the wall outside the building is the metal grille exterior which could get diffuse light. For the internal materials, the circulation ramp used warm color timber make visitors could communicate. And in the exhibition space, the floor use gray concrete make visitors keep quiet.
For the circulation of the exhibition centre, the ramps on each side of each level which like a circle ramp around the building. Visitors could visit the museum just like one level.

Independent Study for 2 week break
The new museum of contemporary art
Kazuyo Sejima and ryue nishizawa have been working collaboratively under the name ‘sanaa’ since 1995. Sejima studied architecture at the japan women's university before collaborating with architect toyo ito. She launched her own practice in 1987 and was named ‘young architect of the year’ in japan in 1992. Nishizawa studied architecture at yokohama national university and, in addition to his work with sejima, has also maintained an independent practice since 1997.

Layout and reflection
Reflection
Before this course, I have played the game Spore and saw many Spore creature which made by other people use creator online. So I have some experience to do the creature. When I started this assignment, I found there was a little different. For game, we made the creatures to fight. And in assignment we made the creature should refer to the idea of an architect’s building. So we should find the design idea of a building first. And then, we would accord the idea to do the spore creature. So we should consider the idea of the building and architect and the characteristic of them. After finish the creatures, we should make a building which living for the creature and the environment. At first, we should draw the draft on the paper. Because of my bad hand drawing, my idea maybe cannot show clearly. But I could present it on the models and images. I used 3Dsmax to do the building model and Sandbox to do the environment. These two tools I have been used, so I could use them without learn. And the building and environment also should accord to the design idea. In this assignment, I meet another new technology which called augmented reality. Augmented reality is a term for a live direct or an indirect view of a physical, real-world environment. I found this technology is very magic. It could put dummy model into the real environment. I have try many time put into BuildAR and found it is so interesting. In this assignment, it helps us to improve the ability to understand the design idea of other architect.

Week 5
I do not found any poster from Norman Robert Foster, but I found a poster about him and his project by other people.At the first, the poster has very clear layout to present the idea. The heading used very bid style word to give the theme of the poster. And the main body texts used smaller word style. However, the main body texts are not all same style. The author used bigger style word to present the more important idea or words. All texts in the poster are black on the white paper, which lets the audiences to concentrated reading in a specific area but not in different separate parts, helps the readers to read more easy and give a clearly direction about where to start. And the author gives a very large image of Norman Robert Foster to emphasize the theme.
